Helping individuals and families impacted by chronic illness through personalized connection.
I’m a medical social worker who has worked in the inpatient hospital setting for nearly a decade. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of New Hampshire, where I studied psychology and family studies. I worked for a few years in a non-clinical role at Boston Children’s Hospital before completing my MSW at Simmons College (now University). After graduating, I returned to Boston Children’s Hospital as a social worker on the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where I still work today.
Hi, I’m Chelsea.
I am passionate about my work with parents and caregivers of children with chronic illness. I also have a breadth of experience working with adults who are personally impacted by chronic illness. My particular areas of focus are coping with congenital heart disease, grief/bereavement, and care across the perinatal continuum. My expertise is focused on helping you build coping skills for any range of issues including anxiety, depression, parenting, and grief. I most often practice a strengths-based approach and draw much of my inspiration from motivational interviewing. It is always my goal to bring a fresh and empathic perspective to the challenges you might be facing in real life. I want my clients to leave each session feeling empowered. I am relatable, reliable, and I believe there is always room for a little humor.
Whether you are digesting a new diagnosis, coping with a loss, or simply weathering the day-to-day, it can be so hard to ask for and accept help. It is my job to cultivate a space where you feel heard, understood, and validated. Chronic illness can be isolating and unpredictable. It comes with unique stressors and it can be challenging to prioritize yourself. While I cannot understand firsthand, experience allows me to be a compassionate ally. I look forward to learning about you and supporting you through this chapter of your life.
